PHOTOS: Scenes for EAD 2014 – Monday Lobby Day

March 24, 2014

The focus of EAD’s Gathering “Jesus Weeps: Resisting Violence, Building Peace” shifted to Capitol Hill on Monday as hundreds of advocates arrived on early morning buses at the Church and braved unexpectedly sub-freezing temperatures to call upon elected leaders to support polices aimed at reducing gun violence and controlling out-sized military spending in favor of investing in other priorities that can contribute to the reduction of violence and true human security. Advocates also presented over 500 peace cranes to Members of Congress and Senators as a sign of their commitment to the work of peace and justice and their desire to work with elected officials to achieve reasonable policy changes to help reduce violence and build a more peaceful world.

Note: More photos will be added in the coming days as they become available.
