EAD Director Doug Grace Steps Down; Rev. Dr. Leslie Copeland Tune Assumes Leadership
On Thursday, September 7, members of the leadership team of Ecumenical Advocacy Days, representatives of EAD sponsor and partner organizations and friends gathered in the United Methodist Building on Capitol Hill to bid a fond farewell to Douglas Grace, who served first as coordinator, and then as director of EAD from 2010 to 2017. Many were on hand to personally thank Doug for his years of leadership, during which the scope and direction of EAD grew dramatically.
During the event, the executive committee of EAD also announced the appointment of Rev. Dr. Leslie Copeland Tune, director of the Ecumenical Poverty Initiative, as EAD’s new director. Dr. Copeland Tune assumes leadership of EAD as preparations continue for the next National Gathering and Congressional Advocacy Day, slated for April 20-23, 2018.
Previously, Dr. Copeland Tune was the Director of Communications & Resource Development for the D.C. Baptist Convention. She also served as Assistant Director of Justice and Advocacy for the National Council of the Churches of Christ in the USA.
