Lenten Reflection from EAD Director

February 13, 2013

Ash Wednesday

Dear Friends of Ecumenical Advocacy Days,

Lent is a season for introspection, reflection, and for a spiritual commitment to Christ’s sanctifying mission and ministry of justice and peace. As we begin the Lenten journey today, I invite you to spend time in reflection on EAD’s 2013 Theme and Biblical Guidance, and to consider, as a Lenten discipline and as Christian discipleship, registering, attending and promoting EAD’s national gathering, At God’s Table: Food Justice for a Healthy World, on April 5-8, 2013. The faith we proclaim calls for a public witness to the struggle and ultimate triumph of the One who “turns the tables” on the powers and principalities of this world in the name of God’s righteousness, justice and peace.

Help Promote EAD 2013
Many people have already registered for the April national gathering, and hotel rooms are booking up! Help promote EAD to others by forwarding or passing-out at your congregation the EAD 2013 Brochure. Or what about emailing or forwarding the entertaining “Sustainable Agriculture” YouTube video that helps explain the global food crisis that we will tackle at EAD. Review EAD’s Promotional Resources that are available for you, your friends and your congregation.

Ask a Question, Share a Ride, or Find a Roommate
EAD now has a Bulletin Board as part of our new website. Ask a question about this year’s EAD gathering or to post that you are looking for a potential roommate at EAD or for someone to share a ride to Washington in April.

As we walk with Christ this Lent and prepare for EAD’s national gathering the weekend after Easter, know that your EAD Leadership Team walks with you and is committed, as our act of faithful discipline, to do our part to prepare The Way of the Lord.

Grace and Peace,

Douglas G. Grace, M.Div., S.T.M.
