Ecumenical Advocacy Days 2014 – “Jesus Weeps: Resisting Violence, Building Peace” kicked off the evening of Friday, March 21 with with an opening reception, meet-and-greet and other welcome activities, including a rousing keynote from Catholic peace activist and author Rev. John Dear, worship which included global songs for peace and justice from the ELCA Glocal Musicians, as well as the introduction of artistic projects and efforts to craft peace cranes to be delivered to Capitol Hill in conjunction with Monday’s Lobby Day.
