Susan Gunn will serve as emcee for the Ecumenical Advocacy Days 2023 virtual event April 25-27, 2023.

Susan is the director of the Maryknoll Office for Global Concerns, a Catholic peace and justice advocacy office in Washington, DC and at the UN in New York, representing Maryknoll missioners who work with marginalized communities in 25 countries. Blessed to have the opportunity to earn a Master’s degree in International Development Management from American University, Susan names as her most formative experience the four years she spent in mainland China in the 1990s, first studying Mandarin in Beijing and then working as a volunteer with the China Christian Council to train middle school teachers in rural parts of the country. To welcome the stranger and to build bridges of friendship and peace across cultural divides are at the heart of both Susan’s lifework and the mission of Maryknoll.
