Keynote Preacher: Sunday Interdenominational Worship
Preaching at our premier worship during the weekend of #EAD2018 was the Most. Rev. Ricardo Ramírez, bishop emeritus of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Las Cruces, New Mexico. He is the second of two sons. He was ordained to the priesthood in 1966 and is a member of the Congregation of St. Basil. He was named Titular Bishop of Vatarba and Auxiliary Bishop of San Antonio in 1981 by Pope John Paul II. On October 18, 1982, he became the first Bishop of the Diocese of Las Cruces, New Mexico, which he served through 2013, when he retired. Bishop Ramírez has been a tireless advocate for immigrants.
In 2017, the Las Cruces Sun-News named Bishop Ramírez Las Cruces’ “Distinguished Resident” for his decades of service to the community.
